What does the Rainboy do?
Simply put, the Rainboy makes very pure water, just like rain is made. The principle of evaporation and condensation in nature can be perfectly compared with the Rainboy.
In nature there is a constant alternation of evaporation and condensation, which creates rainwater. Rainwater is free of pollutants as long as it has not absorbed harmful particles from the air. Nowadays, even the rainwater is polluted with various contaminants from the air.
With the Rainboy you make water that is as pure as rainwater from thousands of years ago.
Distillation
The processes used here are successively – heating – evaporation – condensation. Technically this combination is called 'distilling'. We don't think this is a nice term because it creates an association with alcohol. Although alcohol is also distilled from a mixture of water, residues and alcohol, the Rainboy is only suitable for distilling water from water.
If you fill the Rainboy with tap water, it is heated to boiling point in about 15 minutes. Water vapor forms and rises through the cooling tube. The fan then ensures that the cooling tube is cooled and the water vapor condenses into pure water. Finally, the water passes through an active carbon filter where the last possible impurities are filtered out. This new water is collected in a 4 liter carafe and is immediately ready to use.
Harmful substances
Any harmful substances or impurities remain in the boiler . This is approximately 1 gram of solids per 4 liters of water. You'll be amazed at what accumulates in there. It is therefore easy to understand and visually see and taste that the newly obtained water is now fresh and extremely pure and soft.
Why a Rainboy
Maybe you thought that the water from the tap is fine to drink. Unfortunately, humanity has been polluting the earth for quite some time and we see this reflected in our tap water in various ways.
Rain today is far from pure, like the pure rainwater that fell from the sky a thousand years ago, and other natural water sources are also polluted.
Our tap water is not as pure as it may seem
Water pipes have existed in the Netherlands since 1853. They are often made of copper, sometimes lead and nowadays often also made of plastic. The quality of these pipes and the water that flows through them varies greatly per location and is not good everywhere. Over the past hundred years, tens of thousands of chemicals , medicines and contaminants have been added and it is increasingly difficult for water companies to guarantee the quality of drinking water. In fact, there are tens of thousands of possible contaminants, but only a few dozen are tested for.
Reverse osmosis and carbon filters are inadequate and cannot remove everything that could be affecting your water quality. Subsequently, many filter systems work with large active carbon filters. These filters initially provide very clean water, but over time they become increasingly dirty and become a source of bacteria. So you have to replace these filters regularly. Very good water filters can also be very expensive to purchase and sometimes work with up to 6 separate carbon filters.
Packaged mineral water also seems very clean, but the legal requirements for its production also allow a lot of pollution in the water. Packaged mineral water is stored in plastic bottles for a long time and transport is very expensive. Partly due to storage and transport, mineral water is many times more expensive than tap water.
Many purposes
Only distillation can remove all contaminants from the water. The Rainboy gives you the cleanest water possible with 0 ppm of contaminants. The final filter with the activated carbon capsule is only to filter any volatile organic compounds from the water.
You can use distilled water for many purposes: simply to quench your thirst or for a better tasting cup of coffee or tea, but also, for example, in your steam iron, for streak-free window cleaning or cleaning contact lenses.
The human body accumulates various waste products every day, but by drinking distilled water, i.e. water in its purest form without contaminants, it is easier for your body to remove these waste products.
This applies to the adult body, but if possible even more so to a baby's body, and for that reason distilled water is extremely suitable for the preparation of baby food.
The cost of Rainboy's water depends on the electricity price. With the Rainboy you can make pure water for an average of approximately 0.09 euros per liter. If you compare this with bottled mineral water, you will earn back the purchase costs of the Rainboy within six months.
